About Us – African Fine Coffees Association (EAFCA)

Who We Are
The African Fine Coffees Association (EAFCA) is a regional, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting, supporting, and enhancing the African coffee industry. Founded to bring together stakeholders from across the continent, our mission is to showcase Africa’s rich coffee heritage while empowering farmers, traders, and consumers through education, collaboration, and sustainable practices.
As the voice of African coffee, we represent members from over 20 coffee-producing countries. From smallholder farmers and cooperatives to exporters, roasters, and coffee enthusiasts, EAFCA connects the people and stories behind every cup of African coffee.
Our Mission
To promote African fine coffees worldwide by:
- Strengthening the capacity of producers and cooperatives.
- Creating opportunities for global trade and market access.
- Advancing sustainability through environmentally friendly and socially responsible practices.
- Celebrating Africa’s diverse coffee cultures and traditions.
Our Vision
A future where African coffee is recognized globally as the finest in quality, diversity, and sustainability, and where every farmer benefits equitably from the industry’s growth.
What We Do
1. Training and Capacity Building
We provide workshops, technical training, and resources to help farmers and cooperatives improve quality, adopt sustainable farming practices, and adapt to climate change.
2. Advocacy and Networking
EAFCA serves as a bridge between African coffee producers and the global coffee industry. Through advocacy and strategic partnerships, we amplify the voice of African coffee on the international stage.
3. Trade and Market Access
We organize trade fairs, exhibitions, and the African Fine Coffee Conference & Exhibition (AFCC&E), the largest gathering of coffee professionals in Africa. These events create direct links between African producers and global buyers.
4. Research and Innovation
By collaborating with research institutions, we encourage innovation in coffee cultivation, processing, and sustainability, ensuring Africa remains at the forefront of the global coffee industry.
Why African Coffee?
Africa is the birthplace of coffee. From the ancient highlands of Ethiopia to the volcanic soils of Rwanda and the lush hills of Uganda, the continent’s unique climates and landscapes produce some of the most sought-after coffee in the world. Each cup tells a story of heritage, resilience, and community.
At EAFCA, we believe that sharing these stories helps drive appreciation, fair trade, and global recognition for African coffee.
Our Community
Our strength lies in our members:
- Smallholder farmers who dedicate their lives to growing exceptional beans.
- Women and youth cooperatives leading the future of sustainable coffee.
- Exporters and roasters who bring African flavors to the world.
- Coffee enthusiasts and researchers who celebrate African coffee culture.
